FAT BIRD
When I let Toby out to potty after I got home yesterday I noticed this robin sitting out back. I don't think I've ever seen such a "round" robin!! Did he know that it was getting ready to snow and just gorged himself getting ready for the event?? I don't know...

WAITING FOR THE SNOW
They've been talking for several days about this BIG snow that we're suppposed to be getting. The forecasts predicted that it would arrive by 6 am this morning. Well, it didn't make it---yet. They still say it's coming, but just a little later than they first thought. Now they're saying by late afternoon it'll start getting bad and by Saturday afternoon we'll have 6-9 inches. We'll see. I will post pictures tomorrow.

THIS IS JANUARY??
Here it is, getting toward the end of January. A time when the temperatures are usually freezing outside. Today it was in the sixties. WOW. Handyman and I met his sister and brother-in-law at our cabin on the lake. It's not quite ready to show off, but they wanted to see it in person. It was so nice to spend a little time with them. After showing off our cabin we went into Glasgow and had a nice relaxing lunch together. Afterwards, Handyman and I went to Lowes (where we're spending most of our money these days) and then to the flea market to look for cracker cans. We found a few that were rusty, so we'll have to keep looking. It was a really nice day.

BACK TO WORK
Well today was my first day back at work after a wonderful break. Fortunately most of the secretaries were out for the holidays too so I didn't have a big backlog of work to do. If all goes as planned I will be retiring around March/April of 2014. It doesn't seem quite as long now that it's 2010 instead of 2009. Now I only have to watch the last number of the years change!!

VACATION
I have really been enjoying being off from work for two full weeks. Actually I don't remember the last time I was off for a two week vacation. I've had a variety of activities, including hosting our annual Sunday School caroling party, taking a trip to Kansas, attending our church's Christmas Eve Candlelight Services, doing a little shopping, going to our cabin to see what handyman husband has been accomplishing, reading a book, doing a little cooking, keeping in contact with friends and family on Facebook, and today we took down our Christmas decorations. Monday it'll back to work whether I'm ready for it or not.
